The wines of Summer are here!
2012 dry Roses from Europe are arriving weekly!
It’s always a sign that it’s warming up when the dry rose wines from France, Spain and Italy start arriving at Bacon’s! We’ve got several here already, with more arriving throughout the month of April and perhaps a couple or so more in May. This year we’ll have our best ever selection of these delicious wines, as more and more wine lovers discover how food friendly they are, not to mention great on their own or perhaps with a little cheese or fresh fruit. This year we welcome back two of our favorites Artazuri and Las Rocas from Spain along with the ever popular Domaine Houchart from Provence. We’ll also be featuring several new wines to the category this year. For those who like a great deal, we’ve still got a couple of cases of the 2011 Chateau Grande Cassagne at $8.99 (sale on this vintage only).
Just in as of Wednesday April 17th…..Elicio Grenache & Cinsault 2012 This was perhaps the most sought after rose at Bacon’s last year, but it sold out very quickly. This year we are taking no chances, so we bought a bunch. Beautifully made wine from southern France. Just $9.99
Guess what’s back in stock?
Michael Pozzan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
This is the very same wine that caused quite a stir at our wine tasting last November. We lost count of the number of solid cases we sold back then and it was a big favorite until the last bottles left our stores a couple or so months ago. We thought it was gone forever. Ah, too bad!
Guess what, it’s back! Mr Pozzan released a limited additional quantity in Massachusetts and the much to our amazement and joy the price is now even lower! Here’s the tasting note:
This deep plum colored Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic from an exceptional area known for turning out some of the finest Cabernets from California. The aromas are intensely concentrated in its fruit aspects with juicy, over ripe black cherry and cassis notes. The palate has the texture and tannin structure for long-term cellaring and it’s the fruit and concentration that makes it great. The juicy palate finishes with toasted French oak which again will improve even more with 2 or more years in the cellar. This one will be a blockbuster.
This is the quintessential filet mignon Cabernet Sauvignon.
Aged exclusively in French oak for 16 months and will drink well through 2025. (We could even tell you that the grapes are sourced from vineyards used in one of the Valley’s most famous Cabernets, selling for up to $75 per bottle, but we can’t say more!) Reg $19.99 SPECIAL SALE $15.99 Quantities are very limited.
